On July 5, Hungarian President Viktor Orban is going to Moscow to hold a meeting with Vladimir Putin.
This was reported by Radio Liberty.
“Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto will also accompany Orban to the Kremlin, the government source said on July 4,” the media stated.
Szijjarto has already visited Russia more than five times since Russia fully invaded Ukraine in 2022.
Central European investigative editor Szabolcs Panyi was the first to report on the trip on X. He noted that it was a dubious way to start Hungary’s EU presidency that had began on July 1.
On July 2, Viktor Orban met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv. During a meeting, he inquered whether Ukraine would like to launch a ceasefire immediately so that the peace process could start. He didn’t elaborate on any conditions or on how Ukraine could be sure the ceasefire wouldn’t be used by Russia to occupy more land as it’s conducting active hostilities in all directions.
