On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces are mostly holding defensive positions.

That is according to Pavlo Shamshyn, Spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational Tactical Group, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent during a televised broadcast.

“On the Kharkiv front, the enemy is predominantly on the defensive. The highest activity is observed near Vovchansk and the surrounding settlements, where they are attempting to improve their tactical position,” Shamshyn stated.

When asked whether the changing ground conditions due to weather affect the intensity and effectiveness of equipment usage, Shamshyn noted that some areas have become muddy, creating challenges for both transport and infantry.

However, he emphasized that this does not significantly impact the overall course of combat operations.

Shamshyn reported that there have been no significant changes in the size of the Russian grouping on the Kharkiv front recently.

“However, the enemy continues to rotate its frontline units, mainly due to fatigue. In addition, Russians are suffering heavy losses and need reinforcements. Frontline units also require logistical support, including ammunition, food, and water,” he explained.

According to Shamshyn, Ukrainian forces are constantly monitoring the movement of Russian troops. Upon detecting logistical transport or supply routes, Ukraine’s Defense Forces immediately attempt to destroy them.

As reported earlier, five people were wounded in Kharkiv due to Russian shelling.
