Russian occupiers surrender to save their lives. Ukraine provides them with decent living conditions. Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military-political commentator of the “Information Resistance” group, told about this today, August 24, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
“First of all, this is the preservation of life for every Russian occupier. After all, in fact, we can talk about the fact that the conditions that Ukraine provides to the Russian occupiers regarding the surrender of prisoners, no other country, I do not remember, had the practice of implementing such opportunities. In addition, we saw a very interesting example of the capture of a Russian pilot with a Mi-8ATMSh helicopter,” he said.
The observer emphasized another very important point.
“What is the telling moment? We provide the opportunity to surrender not only to those ordinary occupiers who are in the field, on the first line of defense. We allow surrender even to those who are in the rear – officers, even if they are not of any high position, ranks. But if you are, for example, a helicopter pilot, you have an opportunity, an open path, and you will also receive a reward for this, among other things. By the way, the pilot who brought us the Mi-8ATMSh… This is currently one of the latest modifications of this Mi-8 helicopter in Russia,” Kovalenko said.
It should be noted that, as reported in the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MOU), in recent weeks the exchange fund has increased by more than 200 Russian prisoners. According to the agency, every fifth Russian soldier out of these 200 left their positions, threw down their weapons and voluntarily surrendered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And this means that returning Ukrainian defenders will be easier and faster. Currently, under the “I want to live” program, 3 to 5 Russian soldiers surrender daily. In total, over 22,000 applications were received during the year.
