A New Transport Corridor Between Ukraine, the Baltic Sea and the Silk Road to Be Built

According to Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the EU along with Ukraine, wiill finance a highway for transportation along the Silk Road.

The project is called “Go Highway.” It will connect the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea.

The European Union is ready to partially finance this project.

The highway will connect four Black Sea ports in the south of Ukraine and two ports of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland, to the Silk Road.

The 1,746 km transport corridor will cost about $2.4 billion and will be completed within three years.

Earlier, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine stated that the project would contribute to the growth of trade between Ukraine and Europe, due to the lower costs of cargo delivery. It will also contribute to the trade development between China and the EU, and strengthen the Ukrainian transit situation on China’s New Silk Road.
