New Kharkiv Coworking Space

The newly-opened student hall at the Karazin Kharkiv National University features recreational zones, a conference room, a stage, a workspace, and a café. All the zones are easily transformed.

“Liberation and freedom; the composition of the space also follows these rules. It is basically a cluster of free spaces that coexist together without any walls. The zoning here is purely symbolic,” Olena Fondorko, an architect of the coworking space said.

The coworking space is about 900-square-meters. There, students can work on their educational, cultural, and recreational projects.

In order for the hall to be as convenient as possible, university students were consulted during the planning stages.

“All the ideas, sketches and so on were previously approved by the students. We wanted to create a highly pleasant and comfortable place for students to spend time in,” Maryna Dudnichenko, the Head of the Coworking Space said.

The first guests were impressed by the new interactive space. They plan to come here regularly to work on their projects.

“I am really glad that our university supports such innovative methods and the students have a place to relax, study or just spend time with friends after classes. I will come here with my friend and we will study. We have a lot to learn. We need to study,” Iryna, a student said.

“We will invite all the students here and organize a big celebration. This should be easy,” Madamin, a student said.

The Karazin Kharkiv National University has around 15,000 students. Space is also accessible to people with disabilities
