New Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the United States Embassy in Ukraine Kristina Kvien has assured that the policy of strong support for Ukraine remains steady after the change of US Embassy leadership.

“I am honored to be serving now as the US Embassy Kyiv Chargé d’Affaires. I am excited to take on a new challenge and a great responsibility of leading the US Embassy team as we work closely with Ukrainian partners to advance our shared goals. While the Embassy’s leadership is changing, our policy of strong support for Ukraine remains steady,” Kvien said in a video address posted on the Embassy’s Facebook page.

She assured that the US Embassy team would continue to partner closely with the Ukrainian Government and civil society in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and in support of reforms that will help Ukraine build a prosperous European future.

“Ukraine has made great strides forward in the short time I’ve been here and I am committed to supporting the work ahead,” Kvien promised.

William Taylor left the post of the Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the United States Embassy in Ukraine effective December 31, 2019. Kristina Kvien became the new Chargé d’Affaires.
