Never never never never: that’s how much Biden wants to be sure Russia won’t occupy Ukraine, but still not enough for NATO invitation

President Biden says he remains a person who doesn’t support “NATOization” of Ukraine despite the US efforts to help it win in the war against Russia.

He said this in an interview with TIME.

“Peace looks like making sure Russia never, never, never, never occupies Ukraine. That’s what peace looks like. And it doesn’t mean NATO, they are part of NATO. It means we have a relationship with them like we do with other countries, where we supply weapons so they can defend themselves in the future,” US President explained.

He added that he had already told media that he was not prepared to support the NATOization of Ukraine.

When asked if there is any chance that NATO is “on a slippery slope to war” with Russia if it continues its support for Ukraine, Biden said that’s what gonna happen if NATO fails to “do something” about Ukraine.

Earlier, US Ambassador to NATO Julianne Smith promised NATO would use “new language in the Summit declaration on Ukraine’s membership aspirations” that would show progress compared to the previous year in Vilnius.
