NATO will strengthen its defense and reconsider its stance towards Russia. Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this in an interview to German journalists. According to Stoltenberg, Russia is becoming more unpredictable and aggressive. As an example, he mentioned the poisoning of the Russian ex-spy Sergei Skrypal. Stoltenberg has also voiced his concern that Russia may expand its nuclear arsenal. In this regard, he expects that, by the UN summit in July, NATO countries will show readiness to build up their defense potential.
