NATO cannot let Ukraine lose in the war unleashed by the Russian Federation – the expert spoke about the help of the Alliance

NATO cannot let Ukraine lose in the war unleashed by Russia, because this will mean the world’s security system collapse. This opinion was expressed on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by the Deputy Head of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Yegor Chernev.

“NATO cannot simply let Ukraine lose and Russia win. Otherwise, it will mean, in principle, the collapse of the security system in the world. This means that they will help us as much as we need, with what we need, until we win. And now the specific decisions that have been made after this summit are just the same, providing us with more air defense systems and more transformers so that we can quickly restore our energy system. It is not so hard to get through this winter, which we, unfortunately, the Russian Federation will make as difficult as possible,” Chernev said.

He noted that since the beginning of a full-scale war, the Russian Federation has been asking the allies for the Patriot system, and so far the issue of their transfer has not been resolved, but there is specific progress.

“This is still the same wall, but probably with cracks because we started asking for Patriot from the very beginning of the aggression, from the very beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, since March. And before, they dismissed it and said that these are too serious, complex systems that are difficult to integrate into our security systems. Moreover, this is a system integrated into the NATO security system, transferring it to us will mean that in some part we are already integrating into NATO, into intelligence, into interaction with satellites, and so on, and so on, and so on. Now we are no longer talking about the fact that no, it is impossible, but not yet a firm “yes”. I really hope that due to the critical circumstances that we have with missiles from the Russian Federation, this decision will nevertheless be made in the near future, ”Chernev said.

Also, according to him, the MiG-29 and F-16 fighters are still in the process of discussion and delivery to Ukraine.

Chernev also noted the importance of the statement by Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Ukraine’s membership in NATO after the end of the war.

“This means that so far there is no specific consensus within the NATO countries, but there are definitely no countries in opposition to us. Some countries are just thinking about whether we should give it with the MAP (NATO Membership Action Plan – ed.), and someone insists that we do it without the MAP. But readiness for such a decision, that Ukraine will still be a member of NATO, is already being traced, and the Secretary-General speaks about this quite directly. But, of course, after the end of the war, after our victory,” said the head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
