The NASA’s Astronaut Who Deployed the Ukrainian Flag in Space Comes to Ukraine, and to UATV

According to the US Embassy, from March 14 to March 16, the astronaut will visit Ukraine and tour around the country, in Dnipro, Kyiv and Zhytomyr.

Randy Breznik’s participated in two spacecraft launches. During the time spent at the International Space Station (ISS), he exited the statiion several time to work in open space – for a total of 18 hours.

Randy became the second astronaut after Leonid Kadeniuk to deploy the Ukrainian flag in outter space. Randolph and his wife Rebecca Burgin adopted a three-year-old boy from Dnipropetrovsk in 2008, which has understandably created strong ties with Ukraine.

While on a board of the ISS, the astronaut spole through Skype with people from the American House in Kyiv. Randolph Breznik gave more detils rhen about his life onboard of ISS. Answering questions, Randy said that he brought the Ukrainian flag along to the ISS. According to him, he bought the flag during a trip to Ukraine.

Here is the Schedule of Randolph Breznik’s visit to Ukraine:

Dnipropetrovsk – March 14, Wednesday, 12:00 – 15:00 at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library with the assistance of Ukrainian State Space Agency.

Kyiv – March 15, Thursday, 18:30 – 20:30 at the American House in Kyiv.

Zhytomyr – March 16, Friday, from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Serhiy Pavlovych Korolyov Museum of Cosmonautics.

On March 15 from 18:30 to 20:30 UATV will hold an online broadcasting meeting with the NASA astronaut Randy Breznik on several social networks.
