More than a million hectares of forest are burning in Russia (PHOTO)

Fire has destroyed more than a million hectares of forests in the Russian region of Yakutia.

UA reports this referring to Ukrinform.

They note that 251 forest fires were recorded on the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The general area, consumed by the fire is more than 1.5 million hectares of land. 1.3 million hectares of forests and more than 213 hectares of other territories are ablaze.

The fire is actively burning on 2 305.4 hectares.

They specify that for already second month in a row firefighters are moving from district to district. Planes of the Emergencies Ministry have poured almost 4.5 thousand tons of water to minimize the consequences of the disaster and avoid further tragedies.
