On the night of March 7, the Russian Federation launched a massive combined air strike against Ukraine, with air defense destroying 34 enemy missiles and 100 drones, and 86 drones failing to reach their targets.

This was reported by the Air Force in social networks

“The enemy’s air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Fighter aircraft, including F-16 and Mirage-2000 aircraft, were also involved. It is worth noting that French fighter jets, which arrived in Ukraine only a month ago, took part in repelling an enemy air attack for the first time.”

The Russian occupiers launched a combined attack with missiles of various types of air, land and sea-based missiles against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. The main focus of the attack was on gas production facilities.

According to preliminary data, the Air Force’s radio engineering troops detected and escorted 261 enemy air attack vehicles – 67 missiles of various types and 194 attack UAVs and imitator drones of various types, including

  • 35 X-101/X-55cm cruise missiles
  • 8 “Kalibr” cruise missiles;
  • 3 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
  • 4 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles;
  • 8 X-59/69 guided missiles;

    As of 10.00 a.m., 134 air targets were confirmed to have been shot down:

86 enemy imitator drones were lost locally (without negative consequences).

What happened before: “Naftogaz reported that on the night of March 7, the aggressor country Russia launched a massive attack on gas infrastructure facilities, and that destruction was recorded; this is the 17th attack on gas production facilities since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

In particular, the Russian invaders attacked a critical industrial facility in Ternopil region, without causing any casualties, but the population was warned that there may be problems with gas supply.
