Ministry of Energy and the American Chamber of Commerce will continue joint activities to develop Ukraine’s energy sector

An online meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine took place. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization Farid Safarov and Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.

The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of coordination on providing the market with fuel, and preparation for the new heating season.

“Now, during the martial law in the country, the Ministry of Energy is cooperating 24/7 with business representatives both to resolve general issues of industry development as well as to resolve any current problem situations,” Mykola Kolisnyk said.

The topic of regulation on the electricity market was singled out, first of all – the issue of “green” energy.

“The development of green energy is critical for Ukraine. The desire to develop RES is enshrined in our Energy Strategy and is in line with European and global trends. Maximum increase in the share of carbon-free energy in our energy mix is one of the key priorities of the Ministry of Energy,” said Farid Safarov.

Representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce thanked Ukrainian energy workers for continuing to work and perform their duties during the war.

“Our key message is that the members of the Chamber believe in Ukraine, continue to work and are ready to take an extremely active part in Ukraine’s economic recovery,” said Tetyana Prokopchuk, Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce.
