Ministry of Digital Transformation agrees with SAP on free software for Ministry of Defense of Ukraine

The team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation continues to cooperate and implement new large-scale projects with international partners. Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov met with SAP CEO Christian Klein at the World Economic Forum. During the meeting, the parties discussed further support for Ukraine and the implementation of technological solutions.

In 2022, SAP provided over EUR 30 million worth of software and cloud services to Ukrainian customers free of charge. During the first quarter of 2023, they will also be able to use them free of charge.

In addition, SAP will provide about 1,000 software licenses for the military needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“Cooperation with international companies is an important element of building digital resilience and shaping Ukraine as a digital state. We are grateful to our partners for the financial and technological support we receive during this difficult time. In particular, for the free licenses, support for the IT industry, and the Digital4Freedom initiatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Ukraine is now the best platform for testing the latest technologies not just in theory, but in practice,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.

SAP has supported the digital blockade of Russia and is gradually withdrawing from the country. The next step is to stop providing IT consulting services to Russian customers from January 8, 2023. From that day on, support and maintenance will also be significantly limited.

At the same time, SAP supports the initiatives of the Ukrainian government, including digitalization. SAP Ukraine has also recently become a resident of Diia.City.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, SAP has provided open access to SAP Ariba Discovery. This helped to ensure the supply of essential humanitarian goods to Ukraine. In addition, SAP provided leading cloud-based procurement solutions to Enkidu Global, a non-governmental organization that joined forces with the State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine”. This ensured fast and efficient procurement of medicines and medical equipment for millions of Ukrainians in need.

SAP is one of the world’s leading business process management software manufacturers that develops solutions to facilitate efficient data processing and information flow between organizations.
