Jacek Czaputowicz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, said that it would be good if the United Nations would take part in resolving the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, by sending Peacekeepers there.

“Poland is in favor of the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbass, because it is important for our own security. It’s difficult to reach an agreement on this issue, but work on it continues. Poland is one of the most active countries pushing for Peacekeepers in Eastern Ukraine because of the influx of refugees from there,” Czaputowicz said.

He spoke at a briefing of the UN Security Council, reported Yevropeiska pravda with reference to PAP.

The minister assured that Poland respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and maintains that Russia acted outside of the principles of international law, by annexing Crimea and supporting seperatists in Donbass.
