On March 5, an hour after a ceasefire went into effect in Donbas, Russian troops fired at the Ukrainian military.

The Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine, which is a group of representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, announced a complete and termless ceasefire, which went into effect on March.5, in Donbas. The group was formed as a means to facilitate a diplomatic resolution to the war in the Donbas region.

Russian forces fired towards the Ukrainian military using 82 mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers and small arms, in Shchastya village, for an hour and a half.

Two shellings towards the Ukrainian military were recorded. No casualties are reported. The ATO forces didn’t open fire in response.

This is not the first ceasefire that has been violated by Russian forces. Earlier, militants broke the New Year’s Eve ceasefire on its very first day.
