U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered a suspension of military aid to Ukraine, including weapons that had not yet been delivered but were approved under the Biden administration.

This was reported by Reuters and Voice of America, citing unnamed White House officials.

According to Reuters, Trump “put on pause” military aid to Ukraine after a dispute with Zelensky at the White House.

“President Trump has been clear that he is focused on achieving peace. We need our partners to be focused on that as well. We are pausing and reviewing aid to ensure it contributes to some form of resolution,” a source told the publication on condition of anonymity.

The White House declined to comment on the request regarding the possible duration of the pause or the volume and types of weapons affected by the decision.

Voice of America correspondent Ostap Yarysh also confirmed the halt in aid, citing similar statements from a White House source.

“The pause in U.S. military aid to Ukraine concerns weapons that have yet to be delivered. If we look at previous announcements by the Biden administration, this primarily includes vital air defense interceptor missiles and artillery ammunition,” Yarysh wrote.

Earlier, unofficial reports suggested that Trump’s administration had also halted funding for Ukraine’s purchase of new weapons and was considering freezing shipments from U.S. stockpiles.

Ukraine receives weapons from the U.S. through several channels, including the Foreign Military Financing program, which provides loans and grants for purchasing weapons from American defense companies, and the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which allows the Pentagon to procure weapons for Kyiv. However, there are currently no available funds for the latter.

The Presidential Drawdown Authority, which enables the Department of Defense to send weapons directly from U.S. stockpiles, has been the most significant tool for arming Ukraine.

On Monday, the White House was scheduled to hold a meeting to discuss halting shipments under the Presidential Drawdown Authority.

Later that day (Monday evening U.S. time), Trump, speaking about a potential deal to end the war in Ukraine, suggested that Ukrainian President Zelensky “might not last very long” if he refuses to negotiate a peace deal.

Additionally, Trump stated that he does not consider the so-called U.S.-Ukraine minerals agreement, which was supposed to be signed at the White House on Friday, to be “dead.”
