Ukrainian maritime drones Sea baby or “Sea baby” are a unique development of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). With the help of such devices, it is possible to protect water areas around the world without the presence of a huge fleet. Today, August 17, the co-founder of the DroneUa company, an expert in the field of unmanned technologies and robotics, Valery Yakovenko, spoke about this on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
“Ukrainian maritime drones are a kind of revolution that happened. And it was Ukraine that showed the whole world a new security formula for protecting the water areas of any country. The water area of the entire Black Sea is now effectively controlled by Ukraine thanks to the use of innovative equipment and robotics. The devices, which are quite simple and cheap to manufacture, pose a maximum threat to the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” he said.
The invention of maritime drones has made a revolution, a confident expert.
“The innovations that Ukraine invented are changing the approach to the security of water areas around the world. Countries around the world are wondering whether it is worth having a multi-billion-dollar fleet if innovative technologies of a small size are able to keep at bay and guarantee the security of large territories. Ukraine really made a revolution, and this is a recognized fact,” he explained.
The Security Service of Ukraine released footage of naval drones striking Russian aggressor ships and the Crimean bridge, and also reported that they are mass-produced underground.
“For the first time, Ukraine recognized the fact of the existence of such technologies, the fact of the implementation of certain security practices in the water area. Here we can really talk about the fact that when the Security Service of Ukraine talks about it, it is probably the technologies that it is time to make public, because somewhere behind the shoulders there are more than a dozen surprises that can change everything,” the expert noted.
According to Yakovenko, Ukraine is rapidly developing technologies, and it is likely that naval drones are not the only invention that Ukraine’s military-industrial complex can be proud of.
“Ukraine is developing, and those technologies that were created in other countries for decades, they were created in Ukraine during the last 10 years and especially during the last year and a half. What our colleagues and partners in guaranteeing the security of the world have been doing for 30 years with the use of huge trillion-dollar budgets of the military-industrial complex, Ukraine is doing as quickly as possible, actually securing innovations that are born inside our country,” he summarized.
