Macron announces missiles and security deal for Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Ukraine in February to sign a bilateral security guarantee deal that will provide advanced weapons to Ukraine.

This was reported by Reuters.

Macron added 40 SCALP long-range missiles and several hundred bombs are already approved to be delivered to Ukraine soon.

France has already delivered about 50 SCALP missiles, which have a range of about 250 km.

Macron pointed out Europe can’t give up on supporting Ukraine as Russia poses a threat to the entire EU.

“We cannot let Russia win and we must not do that,” he said.

At the same time, Olaf Scholz announced €7 billion in military goods for Ukraine after a call with Joe Biden.

European leaders show their support for Ukraine as it is waiting for 2 major aid packages from the US and the EU to be unblocked.

On January 12, 2024, the UK backed Ukraine with Rishi Sunak signing a bilateral security agreement with Volodymyr Zelenskyy which set security commitments to Ukraine.
