Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite said that there is a serious threat of a Russian invasion if her country isn’t constantly prepared to defend itself.

“If we show that we can and we want to protect ourselves, then nobody will attack us. We must be ready mentally, politically, technologically, with our heart and soul,” Grybauskaite said in an interview with Der Spiegel.

Grybauskaite said that the number of Russian troops, concentrated on the borders of the Baltic States and Poland are ten times bigger than the number of NATO forces in that area.

She said that Western countries are failing to recognize the Russian threat.

“Only when they are attacked, do they wake up and notice that Russia interferes in their interests, spies on them or manipulates their elections,” the Lithuanian president.

Grybauskaite said that while Putin may say one thing, he may do another.
