Lithuanian parliamentary speaker Saulius Skvernelis believes that the EU’s return to importing Russian gas would be a serious mistake.
This is being reported by Delfi
In his opinion, Europe has already found alternative sources of supply, so resuming purchases would only strengthen the Russian military industry and create risks of energy blackmail.
Earlier it was reported that some European officials have begun discussing the possibility of resuming Russian gas imports as part of a potential peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine. At the same time, Lithuanian Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas emphasized that the country has no plans to resume purchases.
