Joining the Normandy format of the United States can “strengthen ” the negotiations.
The corresponding statement was made by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, the first president of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, reports UATV with reference to Radio Liberty.
Kravchuk said that he supports the idea of expanding the Normandy format at the expense of the United States.
“I do not want to offend Europe, but Russia does not listen to Europe. It has already bought in particular, former chancellors. Russia is buying Europe. And I think that the presence of the United States in the Normandy format in this case will strengthen this organization, Russia will feel that there is one of the strongest, most powerful countries in the world, and it should be reckoned with, “said Kravchuk.
He added that in order to expand the number of parties in the negotiation process, the consent of all its participants is required. However, there is no reason in Russia to deny the US participation in the negotiations.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his intention to meet with every leader of the Normandy Format.
