Legally, Putin’s new definition looks very impressive: Podolyak commented on PACE’s recognition of the head of the Russian Federation as a dictator

The resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) recognizing the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin as a dictator and Russia as a dictatorship is an important legal fixation that will lead to certain consequences for the Russian Federation. Now it is necessary to give a signal to countries and companies working with Russia about the possible consequences of cooperation with an aggressor country. Advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU), Mykhailo Podolyak, spoke about this on the FREEDOM TV channel.

“This is a very important recognition. This is a fixation of a legal plan, which will lead to certain growing consequences for the Russian Federation. Therefore this is a good solution. It seems to me that this was a good signal to reduce Russia’s ability to earn money or continue to use certain international opportunities, international platforms to promote its ideas, concepts of the old world order and transform the modern world into a world dominated by violence,” said He.

PACE recognition of Putin as a dictator in the future should limit the Russian Federation’s ability to operate in global markets, Podolyak is sure.

“The legal redefinition of Putin, taking into account the warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC), looks very impressive. But then it is necessary to take the following steps, which will precisely link the status of Russia and Putin with the inability to feel free in global markets,” he stated.

As previously reported, the autumn session of PACE was held from October 9 to 13 in Strasbourg, France. Ukraine became one of the key topics of the session. On October 12, deputies supported two important resolutions in support of Ukraine – “Ensuring a just peace in Ukraine and lasting security in Europe” and “The role of the Council of Europe in preventing conflicts, restoring trust in international institutions and promoting global peace.” On October 13, PACE, by its resolution, recognized the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin as a dictator and the Russian regime as a dictatorship.
