Learn About Fire Fighting in This Kyiv Museum

The Kyiv Fire Fighting Museum is one of the few museums with exhibits you can touch.

It is situated on the private property of the fire department but anyone can visit it.

Fire engines, water pumps and a ZIS-150 car are displayed. The ZIS-150 car is the last one of its kind in the world, because they were not mass produced. It was made in 1948.

The newest object in the museum is the fire motor ladder, which was made in 1965. It can reach the fifth floor of an average building. It is notable that every moving part is operated manually.

All of the retro fire engines are functional. Sometimes, they are used in movies or exhibitions.

This is one of only two firefighting museums in Ukraine. The other one is in Lviv. The Fire Fighting Museum is open by appointment only.
