The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman, said that large-scale road repair will soon start in Ukraine.
The quality of already-built major highways will also be inspected. The quality of the new projects will be in strict compliance with the cargo standards for transport.
Groysman stressed that the repair of roads should be of high quality. “I also demand to stop and eradicate the cases when hot asphalt is poured into potholes and they call it repairs of roads,” Groysman said.
Also, the prime minister wants to protect roads from overloaded trucks. “The requirement for the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety is to provide effective and permanent control over the cargo movement on the territory of Ukraine. Week of quality control and there will be order. It is impossible to exchange the question of quality and safety of roads for a bribe of 500 hryvnias,” Groysman stated.
