Petro Panteleiev, the Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration, said that Kyiv will stop using chlorinated water in 2019, and will instead use a modern water purification technology.
“We take the quality of drinking water seriously. So, we are switching to a new decontamination system, which is currently used in other parts of Europe, in particular in Vienna, Austria. This year, we are starting the first stage at the Dniprovskyi water supply station, Panteleiev said.
He further emphasized that chlorine water decontamination technology is potentially dangerous, therefore, it is essential that Kyiv follows the direction of other modern European citites.
