Kyiv and Vinnytsia region can be in the “red” zone of epidemiological danger soon, – Stepanov

Vinnytsia region and Kyiv are closer to the “red” zone of epidemic danger. 

This was announced by Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov during a press briefing, informs UATV.

He recalled that now there are 4 regions in the “red” zone: Ivano-Frankivsk, Transcarpathian, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr. The minister warned that the Vinnytsia region and Kyiv could be next.

“Therefore, I want to appeal to local authorities: to strengthen control over the observance of quarantine restrictions. To introduce additional restrictions,” the minister said.

Stepanov noted that the COVID situation in Ukraine continues to grow.

“The situation is quite tense. The number of diseases is increasing in our country, as a result, the number of hospitalizations, oxygen beds is increasing”, said the head of the Ministry of Health.

According to him, it is very important now that all citizens adhere to the quarantine restrictions, which are at both the “yellow” and “orange” and “red” levels of epidemiological danger.

Earlier it was reported that the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Victor Lyashko fell ill with a coronavirus.
