Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba discussed the preparation of sanctions against Russia with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

This was reported by UA with reference to the Ukrinform`s website.

During a telephone conversation, Borrell informed Kuleba about the results of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting and invited him to take part in the next one.

“The interlocutors touched upon the preparation of sanctions on the Russian Federation to deter it from implementing aggressive plans against Ukraine and Europe,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informs.

Kuleba and Borrell paid special attention to the prospects of a diplomatic settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict.

It is noted that the chief European diplomat confirmed the lack of intentions to evacuate family members and staff of the EU Delegation to Ukraine at this stage.

As reported, Borrell outlined the EU’s ten priorities in maintaining European security, which were a response to Russia’s military escalation on Ukraine’s borders. Among them is the continuation of close work with partners on sanctions against Russia over international law violations.
