The Russia Federation promises a revenge to the European Union for funding military assistance for Ukraine with proceedings from Russian frozen assets.

That’s according to Reuters.

“Definitely, we will work out the possible legal prosecution of those people who are involved in decision-making and the implementation of these decisions, because this is a direct violation of international law, it is a violation of property rights,” stated the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

This threat comes after EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy promised Ukraine was to receive the first €1,4 billion from the Russian frozen assets in August. Another €1 billion should be transferred by the end of the year.

Previously, it was expected that the money would arrive in July. Josep Borrell emphasized that this money will go to air defense, ammunition for artillery and purchases for the defense industry.

Earlier, media reported that Hungary Budapest blocked more than €6 billion from the European Peace Fund to finance military aid to Ukraine.
