Kaja Kallas has officially stepped down as Estonian PM because she is soon to succeed Josep Borrell as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
ERR reported this on the morning of July 15.
“Prime Minister Kaja Kallas (Reform) submitted her resignation to President Alar Karis on Monday morning,” the media stated.
Still, Kallas will lead the government until the new one is formed which will probably occur in August. Later, she also will have to resign as Reform Party chairman.
On June 28, Estonian politician announced she was nominated as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy by EU leaders.
