Jews Attacked in Uman Twice During Shabos

An armed group of individuals attacked a group of Jews near the tomb of Rabbi Nahman during Shabos on January 10, 2020 in Uman, Cherkasy region of Ukraine.

The conflict between a group of Ukrainians and a group of Jews started “with an insignificant dispute between one of the local Ukrainians and a Jew,” Yeshiva World News reported.

The article also stated that local police did not interfere with the attackers after showing up at the scene and seeing the fight. According to the article, the conflict continued on Saturday night when four victims were reportedly hospitalized due to their injuries. However, the Cherkasy regional police press office stated that the hospital did not confirm this information.

According to the police report, a group of officers from the central National Police department arrived on January 12, 2020 in the city to examine the situation as well as the actions of the local police.
