NATO Must Act Together on Russian Threat- Stoltenberg

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on NATO allies to work together against the Russian threat in a speech Thursday in London.

“Together we are powerful, together we are strong, and together we are secure,” Stoltenberg said.”We face the most unpredictable security environment in a generation. The national terrorism, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, cyber attacks. And, of course, the more and more assertive Russia, which has used intimidation and force against its neighbors. Illegally annexed the Crimea, destabilizes the east of Ukraine, interfered in our internal affairs and attempted to assassinate British citizens with the use of banned chemical weapons.”

Stoltenberg said that NATO allies face common threat and share common interests. At the same time, he acknowledged differences in the positions between the United States and other NATO allied-countries over trade, climate and nuclear issues.
