Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, lists the priorities to implement pro-European reforms in Ukraine this year.

She spoke at a conference called “Results of the Implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU,” Yevropeiska Pravda reported.

Klympush-Tsintsadze said that one of the key priorities for Ukraine in order to implement the Association Agreement this year, will be to follow European rules in the field of sanitation, especially food safety.

Other priority areas include reforms of the customs sector and the field of environmental protection.

“We hope that we will be able to come to an agreement with the parliament on the draft law on environmental assessment, which we haven’t been able to approve this year. We also hope to seriously advance customs reform,” Klympush-Tsintsadze said.

The action plan on the implementation of the Association Agreement will be published on the governmental portal on February 26.

“At the end of October, the government approved a large ambitious document, a plan of measures to implement the EU-2020 agreement, which at that time consisted of 1,200 pages, 2,000 tasks and around 5,000 different subtasks,” Klympush-Tsintsadze said.
