On the sidelines of the Ambrosetti Forum, the President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who arrived in the country on a working visit.

Zelenskyy thanked Italy for all the military and technical assistance packages and stressed that it was important to transfer the relevant weapons to Ukraine as soon as possible.
‘We are very grateful to you and your team, to the entire Italian people for the support you have provided us,’ President Zelenskyy said.
He informed Meloni about the situation on the battlefield, the recent shelling of civilian and critical infrastructure of our country by Russia, and spoke about current defence needs.
The parties discussed steps to implement the G7 decision to provide Ukraine with almost USD 50 billion from frozen Russian assets and to restore and rebuild Ukraine, in particular its energy system.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted Italy’s decision to host the next Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2025. Preparations for the event have already begun.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Peace Formula. Italy is actively involved in the implementation of each item.
