It will not be easy for Russia to get rid of the status of a state sponsor of terrorism, – a political observer on the consequences

After the recognition of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, it will face new serious consequences in the issue of sanctions, economic and diplomatic spheres. This was stated on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group Alexander Kovalenko.

So he commented on the resolution of the European Parliament on the recognition of the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

“This is the first stage, the first step towards quite serious consequences for Russia itself. After all, it will not be so easy for Russia to get rid of this honorary title as a country sponsoring terrorism in fact. And in the future, other levers of influence on Russia will also be implemented, taking into account the fact that it is a country that sponsors terrorism. This will also apply to sanctions, this will also apply to financial elements, economic, even diplomatic,” Kovalenko said.

The observer explained that in this case, even diplomatically, Russia becomes more limited in its capabilities and in the attitude towards it from representatives of another diplomatic field, geopolitical.

“Therefore, for her, this, let’s say, is the beginning of much more difficult times than it was before,” summed up Alexander Kovalenko.

Earlier, the European Parliament, during a vote on November 23, adopted a resolution recognizing the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism. The document was supported by 494 MEPs with votes “for”, 58 voted “against”, 44 abstained.
