Israel and “Hezbollah” have officially accepted a ceasefire agreement to stop hostilities in Lebanon, U.S. President Joe Biden announced.

According to him, since the beginning of the war, over 70,000 Israelis and more than 300,000 Lebanese have become refugees.

“Let’s be clear: Israel did not start this war, the Lebanese people did not seek this war, and neither did the United States,” Biden said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he is ready to implement the ceasefire agreement, adding that he will “decisively respond to any violations” by “Hezbollah.”

“We will adhere to the agreements and respond firmly to any violations. Together, we will continue until victory. In full coordination with the United States, we maintain complete military freedom of action. If Hezbollah violates the agreement or attempts to rearm, we will deliver a decisive blow.” he said.

According to him, there were three reasons to seek a ceasefire: to focus on the threat from Iran, to replenish depleted weapon supplies, and to give the army rest.

The Lebanese government also agreed to the ceasefire. It is expected that U.S. President Joe Biden will announce the agreement.
