Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that his country is to be represented at the Peace Summit in Switzerland.

That’s according to PTI.

Narendra Modi has expressed an opinion that India will “resonate the voice of the Global South” at the summit to shape the global discourse and advance the vision for human-centric development and a prosperous and peaceful world.

Modi did not provide information on whether he personally would be present at the conference.

“The level of participation will be the factor of timing, logistics and parallel commitments,” he stated.

More than 50 countries and organisations have already confirmed their participation. Countries in South America, Africa and the Middle East are among them, according to Swiss President Viola Amherd. She is eager to involve more countries from the so-called Global South, including China.

The Global Peace Summit will be held on 15-16 June in Bürgenstock.
