Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said to Vladimir Putin that peace is “of utmost importance” while “war cannot solve problems” during his visit to Russia.
This was reported by AFP.
“India has always called for respecting the UN Charter, including territorial integrity and sovereignty. There is no solution on the battlefield. Dialogue and diplomacy is the way forward,” Prime Minister Modi aslo claimed, according to NDTV.
Not only Modi warmly hugged Putin in Moscow but also commemorated Russian unknown soldier as its now very known soldiers killed at least 41 people in a missile attack on Ukraine a day before. He received a reaction from the Ukrainian side quite briskly.
“It is a huge disappointment and a devastating blow to peace efforts to see the leader of the world’s largest democracy hug the world’s most bloody criminal in Moscow on such a day,” Zelenskyy wrote on X, most likely referring to Modi.
Previously, various world leaders have claimed that Putin’s peace deal had nothing to do with a real and just peace.
