Two Russian aircraft attacked an American reconnaissance and strike UAV MQ-9 Reaper over the Black Sea today. As a result, the drone had to be sunk. This issue will be resolved through diplomacy. This opinion was expressed today, on March 14, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by Alexander Kovalenko, a military-political observer of the Information Resistance group.
“I don’t see any global precedent in this that could result in something. There will still be troubles for Russia, but not of a military nature, because in this case Russia used the “state of emergency” technique, for example, unprofessional fighter piloting. This tactic dates back to the days of the Soviet Union,” he said.
Kovalenko explained that the Russian army used such tactics in the Black Sea when it “pushed” NATO ships out of any zone.
“That is, they went to a collision and by the process of pushing they tried to force the ships out of one or another location of this or that area. And in fact, we can now observe this in the sky. The fighter dropped a certain amount of fuel and went to approach the object, provoked a collision. Even if this collision was dangerous for him, there would be enough fuel, for example, to reach one of the airfields on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula or eject, ”the expert believes.
He added that this case is not a direct conflict, but an incident, and will be resolved not by military means, but through diplomatic channels.
