The situation in the Bakhmut direction is controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Russian occupiers are unsuccessfully trying to recapture their lost positions, in particular in Andriivka and Klishchiivka. Ilya Yevlash, the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, announced this today, October 3, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

“The situation in these directions is very dynamic, stable and tense, controlled by our command. The enemy continues its efforts, wants to retake the lost positions in this direction, but without success. Over the past day, six such combat clashes took place with the enemy. In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy tried to strike our positions 591 times with their artillery, as well as tanks, AGS, LNG, and conventional small arms,” he said.

Also, according to the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 77 Russian occupiers.

“The enemy understands the importance of this flank and this direction, the key heights that are located here. Therefore, he is now trying with all his might to keep it. He also continues to carry out counteroffensive actions on the northern flank near Bakhmut, because he understands that if he loses this flank as well, it could turn out to be disastrous for him. Therefore, the enemy is now as aggressive as possible in this direction, trying to oppose us. But our defenders are moving forward and we are having success in different parts of the front in the Bakhmut direction, where we advanced from 100 to 400 meters,” Yevlash informed.
