In Portugal, the court sentenced 3 inspectors for beating a Ukrainian to death

A court in Portugal sentenced 3 inspectors of the migration service who beat a Ukrainian to death at the Lisbon airport. It took place in March 2020.

Ihor Homenyuk was detained for trying to enter the country illegally. At first, the Portuguese migration service claimed that the man died of an epileptic seizure. However, the police suspected that Homenyuk was beaten, and later died.

Two Portuguese inspectors received 9 years of imprisonment, the third – 7.

Portugal will pay compensation to the family of Ukrainian man killed at the Lisbon airport.
