How Russian propaganda influences the issue of support for Ukraine in the United States, an American political strategist explained

The influx of Russian propaganda will increase as the US presidential election approaches. This opinion was voiced in the project “On the Edge” of the FREEDOM TV channel by the founder of the Ukraine Freedom Project, American political strategist Stephen Moore.

“Yes, most likely, the scale of propaganda will increase. And now it is at a fairly high level. For two years, Russian propaganda essentially went unpunished,” Moore said.

He cited the example of Tucker Carlson, whose pro-Russian posts on social network X receive millions of views.

“Carlson is a very influential figure. He openly says: why don’t we support Russia, because I’m for them? He infiltrates this conservative environment and says things that don’t always correspond to reality. And as a result, voters in the United States echo Carlson, for example, that President Zelensky “buys yachts with our money.” We know that this is not true, but this is what the American voters were told,” Moore said.

Since Tucker Carlson is also quoted by Russian propagandists, emphasizing that “the American is right,” one can observe how reality is replaced with fake reality.

“Indeed, there is a kind of echo between Kremlin propagandists and some conservative figures in the United States. And it’s disappointing because we, Ukraine supporters, feel burdened by the truth. I believe that I should say what I see and cite sources of information. While Tucker Carlson says things that have no basis,” Moore emphasized.

The political strategist emphasized that people believe, because the standards for propagandists on the part of the Kremlin are much lower than the standards adhered to by supporters of Ukraine.

“When you don’t have to tell the truth, then propaganda to convince people becomes much easier,” he concluded.

Moore believes that propaganda influences the issue of US assistance to Ukraine. According to him, there are quite a lot of Republicans in Congress who would like to make the right decision.

“But Russian propaganda is so effective in the US that their voters are calling them and saying, ‘Why are we voting for you? Why do we support assistance to Ukraine?” This is the dynamic that is now observed in the United States on the part of Republicans regarding assistance to Ukraine,” Moore emphasized.

Let us remind you that the US Senate did not support the bill to help Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, as well as new funding for border protection. There were not enough votes to support the immigration reform deal that Democrats and Republicans have negotiated in recent months. Now the Senate will reconsider the aid bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, but without immigration reform.
