It is planned to implement a project to create a domestic rocket within the framework of the space program in Ukraine for 5 years. Its launch can take place from the Atlantic or Indian Ocean.
This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the head of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Volodymyr Taftay, UA reports.
“All the goals set out in the space program, including the creation of a space rocket, are not just realistic, but must be met within that program. At the end of the 5-year period, we must get these projects ready and working” – Taftay said.
According to him, it will be a light missile, which requires UAH 4.8 billion to finance.
“Within the framework of this project, the optimal point for the offshore launch will be calculated. Most likely, it will be the Atlantic Ocean, but the starting points from the Indian Ocean were also considered” – Taftay said.
To remind, The works of Ukrainian schoolchildren in grades 9-11, members of the Small Academy of Sciences, will be taken for experiments on the International Space Station.
