German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has rejected the approach regarding support for Ukraine as a ‘charitable gesture’.

This was reported by Tagesschau, citing German Foreign Minister’s statement made at a conference on the National Security Strategy in Berlin on July 1.

“It is irritating to see discussions in which support for Ukraine is seen as a charitable gesture rather than what it really is – an investment in our own national security, in the defence of peace and freedom,” Annalena Baerbock claims.

Baerbock emphasized that “there can be no greater national interest” than contributing to Ukraine’s victory, hence, constraining Russia’s imperialistic ambitions.

The German politician has visited Ukraine 8 times in order to evaluate the repercussion of Russian vile attacks on civilian infrastructure.
