US Vice President Kamala Harris and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will represent the United States of America at the Peace Summit in Switzerland on June 15-16.

That’s according to the official statement on the White House website.

“The Vice President will underscore the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s effort to secure a just and lasting peace, based on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the principles of the UN Charter. The Vice President will reaffirm support for the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against ongoing Russian aggression,” reads the statement.

Also, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will attend the Summit.

Previously, Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to Joe Biden to come to the Peace Summit himself unless the President of the US wants Putin to “applaud his absence.”

It was assumed that Biden would miss the Summit because it overlaps with his presidential fundraiser. Still, Zelenskyy and Biden are expected to sign a bilateral security agreement before the Peace Summit, at the meeting of the G7 leaders in Italy on 13-15 June
