“I landed in Lviv with the Chief of Defense Staff of Canada. I got a warm reception from officials from Ukraine,” wrote J. Payette in a microblog on Twitter.
She also posted a photo at the airport, where she was met with bread and salt.

As reported, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the Governor-General of Canada will hold talks on Thursday in the Lviv oblast on strengthening the interaction of the two countries .
In addition, Julie Payette and Chief of Defense Staff of Canada, General Jonathan Vance, plan to visit the Memorial for the Fighters of the ATO and then will meet with representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Canada at the Academy of Military Law Enforcement.
The Governor-General of Canada will also visit the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security in the village Starychi in the Yavoriv County (Lviv oblast) to watch the Unifier operation in action.
