Germany’s Minister of Defense denies any offers from the UK to exchange Taurus and Storm Shadow missiles.

Boris Pistorius stated it in an interview with Welt.

He claims no such negotiations are being held, but he is aware of such news from various media.

Germany and Ukraine are currently working on a security deal but it doesn’t include Taurus delivery to Ukraine in any way.

He also pointed out Taurus belongs to the best technologies in the segment and that such an exchange may not be beneficial for Germany.

“These systems are not fungible,” stressed Pistorius.

At the same time, he rejects assumptions Germany is afraid of providing Taurus to Ukraine due to Putin’s threats, as he never stops threatening, or Ukraine’s desire to use them to hit farther Russian cities.

Pistorius rather expresses some irritation when it comes to statements that Taurus missiles will change the course of the war significantly.

In his opinion, air defense systems remain a №1 priority. Another urgent need is also to produce artillery rounds.
