Germany responds to Ukraine’s call for strengthening its air defence as Russian does not stop its vicious attacks on Kharkiv and other Ukrainian cities.
A joint statement was made by Dmytro Kuleba and Annalena Baerbock after a NATO-Ukraine council meeting in Brussels and published on their social media.
“I have just heard loud and clear from Dmytro Kuleba that Ukraine urgently needs more air defense. I saw myself in Odesa & Kharkiv that air defence saves lives. Together we call on partners in Europe & worldwide to provide whatever we all can,” the German Foreign Minister wrote on her X account.
In a video, Baerbock assured that the Allies understand the urgent need in air defense systems and see Ukrainian civilians can not wait any longer.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized that Patriots must be viewed as systems the partners send to Ukraine as they can intercept ballistic missiles.
Together with France, Germany leads Capability Coalition Integrated Air & Missile Defence.
Later that day in Brussels, Kuleba also spoke with Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of Stat, and asked the US to facilitate the process of Ukraine receiving Patriots to protect its civilians and infrastructure.
