Gas transit through Ukraine must continue, – Olaf Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany is interested in continuing gas transit through Ukraine.

Following talks with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany was in favor of continuing gas transit through Ukraine.

“It is clear that we feel our responsibility to ensure that gas transit through Ukraine continues” – Scholz told a news conference.

He also stressed that the violation of Ukraine’s territorial sovereignty will have a “high price”.

To remind, the economic sanctions after the annexation of Crimea were “a soft and insufficient response to the Kremlin’s increasingly aggressive course,” according to 73 experts from Eastern Europe and security policy, who published an open letter.
