Foreign minister of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania to visit Ukraine this week amid escalation in Donbas

Foreign Ministers of the Baltic states – Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia – will pay an official visit to Kyiv this week amid escalation in Donbas, Lithuanian MFA head reported it in his Twitter.

On the eve of the visit, Minister Landsbergis noted that the accession of other EU and NATO ministers to such a visit would be a “very important signal.” Such a “political shield” would provide an opportunity to gain time and delay Russia’s attack.

As reported earlier, Baltic states tout US-approved weapon shipments to Ukraine. Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs allocates 351,700 euros of humanitarian aid to support people living in the Donbas hostility zone.

Over the past 24 hours, 80 ceasefire violations by the armed forces of Russian-backed militants were recorded, 72 of which were performed by the weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. As a result of the shelling, one serviceman received moderate shrapnel wounds and is in a medical facility. Ukraine’s Joint Forces Operation reported it.
